Started in1962.

This is the National Professional body of Social workers in Sri Lanka. SLAPSW is a full member of the

INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF SOCIAL WORKERS (IFSW)

and the

COMMONWEALTH ORGANIZATION FOR PROFESSIONAL SOCIAL WORK (COSW).

Our present membership of Professional Social Workers stands 750.They are working in diverse fields such as child protection, Disaster Management, Poverty alleviation, Drug abuse etc. in the government , Non -Government and Public Sector Organizations.
